About Us

McWhorter Service Group Inc. began due to a need for McWhorter Electric Inc. to have a place to service their fleet. There are no places in Portland to service medium duty vehicles.  We hired a mechanic and quickly outgrew our location on Floerke Rd.  Our Railroad location was rebuilt to facilitate the service of our larger vehicles.  We also needed storage for generators (We are Generac Dealers). 

After opening, we realized the major need in the community for auto services. Portland has been my home for 57 years.  As a business owner, I have serviced the community of Portland for 18 years with Electrical services.  We would like to continue to serve the South Texas area with auto, truck, and fleet services.
